When the Crows entered the AFL they needed a poster boy for the adoring masses. Enter Modra.
In 1993, when the Ride The Packs tour began, Modra was in Seek & Destroy mode... Sad But True if you're a Richmond full back as Modra kicked 23 goals over two games against the hapless Tiges. A true Master of Puppets as he seemed to lift himself over defenders whenever it pleased him.
The closing leg of the tour saw 129 goals in front of the Crows supporters eyes. A sight to behold as the club stamped itself on the competition.
